Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills

The editorial board of Ramjas Economic Review in association with The Ramjas Economics Society organised a workshop on the topic "Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills" on 20th February 2023. The speakers for this session were Mr. Anmol Sovit, Chair, Y20 India and Mr. Devansh Sha, Track Chair, Future of Work

Mr. Anmol Sovit, with his vast experience in youth engagement and policy-making, highlighted the importance of preparing the younger generation for the challenges and opportunities posed by Industry 4.0. He emphasized the role of innovation in driving economic growth and the need for educational institutions to adapt their curricula to include skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy. Mr. Devansh Sha complemented this by discussing the specific skills that will be in demand in the 21st century, such as data analytics, AI proficiency, and emotional intelligence, urging students to embrace lifelong learning.

 

The workshop concluded with an open discussion, allowing students to voice their thoughts and suggestions. This interactive segment facilitated a rich exchange of ideas, with participants discussing how academic and industry partnerships could better prepare students for future job markets. Students also provided suggestions on how the curriculum could be updated to reflect the rapidly changing technological landscape, ensuring they are well-equipped to thrive in the future of work.
